Schengen and UK Visa Cost from Pakistan in PKR: The Full 2026 Breakdown
What a Schengen or UK visitor visa really costs from Pakistan in rupees — the fixed government fees, visa-centre service charges, the extras people forget, and what's never refunded — with the exchange-rate maths shown.

Ask three people what a Schengen visa costs from Pakistan and you'll get three different numbers — because the government fee is fixed in euros, the visa centre charges its own fee, and the rupee moves every day. This guide breaks the bill into its parts, shows the exchange-rate maths, and adds the extras people forget. Every figure comes from an official source, and where a number can change, we say so.
The short answer
- •Schengen (adult), government fee plus visa-centre charge: roughly PKR 36,000–40,000 on the examples below, before extras.
- •UK Standard Visitor visa (up to 6 months): £135, which is roughly PKR 50,000 at current rates.
- •Neither fee is refunded if your application is refused — so the cheapest visa is the one you only have to pay for once.
Government fees: what's fixed
- •Schengen short-stay visa: €90 for adults, €45 for children aged 6–11, and free for children under 6 — the same whichever Schengen country you apply to.
- •UK Standard Visitor visa (up to 6 months): £135 since 8 April 2026, up from £127. Longer-term visitor visas cost more, at £506 for 2 years, £903 for 5 years and £1,128 for 10 years.
- •Visitors to the UK don't pay the Immigration Health Surcharge on a standard visit visa.
Both are set in foreign currency, so the rupee amount you actually pay changes with the exchange rate on the day. A Rs 10 move in the euro rate shifts the Schengen visa fee by about Rs 900.
Visa-centre service charges
Most Schengen applications from Pakistan are lodged through an outsourced visa centre, which charges its own service fee on top of the visa fee. These differ by country, are paid at the centre, and are set by the centre rather than the embassy. Examples published on VFS Global's Pakistan pages:
- •Italy: €30 per application, charged in local currency.
- •Portugal: €38 per application, paid in cash at the centre.
- •Netherlands: PKR 7,718 per application, including VAT.
- •France (AEG) and Spain (BLS International) publish their own charges — check the centre's official page for your country before you budget.
Putting it into rupees
In the open market on 9 October 2026 the euro was quoted at roughly PKR 310–316 and the pound at roughly PKR 366–372. Using about PKR 315 per euro and PKR 370 per pound, the official fees convert like this:
- •Schengen adult visa fee (€90): about PKR 28,400. Child aged 6–11 (€45): about PKR 14,200.
- •Italy: €90 + €30 centre charge = €120, about PKR 37,800.
- •Portugal: €90 + €38 centre charge = €128, about PKR 40,300.
- •Netherlands: €90 (about PKR 28,400) + PKR 7,718 centre charge, about PKR 36,100.
- •UK Standard Visitor visa (£135): about PKR 50,000.
These are indicative conversions, not what you'll be charged: centres convert at their own rate on the day, and the rupee moves. Check the current rate before you pay.

The extras people forget
- •Travel insurance with at least €30,000 medical cover, valid across the Schengen area. Quotes vary by age, trip length and provider, so compare two or three.
- •Flight and accommodation bookings. A confirmed return reservation and hotel bookings for every night are part of a strong file, and some options carry a booking fee.
- •Bank costs: branch stamping on statements, and any maintenance or balance letter your centre's checklist asks for.
- •Photos, photocopies and printing, plus translations for any document not in English.
- •Any optional services your visa centre offers, if you choose them — these are priced separately and listed on the centre's page.
- •Travel to the centre. Applications are lodged in Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore, so allow for a journey and possibly a night away.
What a realistic total looks like
- •Italy, applying yourself: about PKR 37,800 in fees, plus insurance, bookings and the extras above.
- •Italy with Visaroo's Normal Service (PKR 55,000): about PKR 92,800 in fees, plus the same extras.
- •Italy with Visaroo's Premium Service (PKR 75,000): about PKR 112,800 in fees, plus the same extras.
Our service fee covers document review, application preparation and support — it does not include the embassy visa fee or the visa centre's charge, which are paid directly to those bodies. The point of paying for help is a file that's right the first time: since fees are never refunded, a refusal means paying the visa fee and centre charge all over again.
Fees are not refunded if you're refused
Visa fees and centre service charges aren't returned if your application is refused or you withdraw it. That's why the real cost of a weak application is the whole bill again, plus the time lost. If you've already been refused, rebuild the file properly before you reapply rather than paying to submit the same documents twice.
How to avoid overpaying
- •Pay the visa fee and centre charge only through the official centre — and keep the receipt.
- •Be wary of anyone who asks you to send the 'embassy fee' to a personal account.
- •Check your country's centre page for its current service charge before you budget.
- •Prepare the full document set before booking, so you apply once instead of resubmitting.
- •Apply early enough to avoid paying for urgent or premium services you don't need.
