Italy Visa from Pakistan (2026): How to Book with BLS, Documents and Funds
Italian visa applications in Pakistan are now handled by BLS, not VFS, and appointments are booked on a specific site. Here is how to apply, what Italy expects in your file, and the warning the Embassy itself repeats.

Italy is one of the most-applied-for Schengen destinations from Pakistan, which means slots are in demand and reviewers see a lot of files. The most important recent change is who handles your application: Italian visas in Pakistan now go through BLS, and you book on a different website from the one older guides tell you to use.
Who handles Italian visa applications in Pakistan now
In a notice published on 25 July 2026, the Italian Embassy in Islamabad says applications for short-term (Schengen), family reunion and work visas must be submitted at BLS Visa Application Centres in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad, and that appointments are booked at intianaitalyvisa.com. Many blogs and some older pages still say VFS Global, so check the Embassy's own page before you book.
- •Book your appointment only on the website the Embassy names. Italy's notice is blunt: visa appointments should never be purchased, and anyone selling one should be reported to the Embassy.
- •Submit your documents in person at the BLS centre. The Embassy's notice lists Islamabad, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad. If you live in Sindh or Balochistan, confirm the nearest centre when you book, since the notice names four cities.
- •A waiting-list system currently applies to family reunion and work visas. It is a different matter from a tourist application.
What does an Italy visa cost?
The Schengen visa fee for adults is €90. On top of it, the visa centre charges its own service fee, and the amount for BLS is shown when you book on the Intiana site, so confirm it there instead of relying on old figures. Our cost guide shows how euro amounts convert into rupees, and the exchange rate moves, so check it on the day you pay.
How much money should you show?
Italy sets its reference amounts through an official table, and reviewers check your balance against your itinerary closely. For one traveller, the amount is a fixed €269.60 for a stay of one to five days, and €44.93 per day for stays of six to ten days. Your flights and accommodation come on top of these daily amounts.
A balance that comfortably covers the stated trip length, built steadily over six months, is what reviewers want to see. Our bank statement guide has the full table of country amounts and advice on explaining large deposits.
Documents to prepare
- •Completed application form and a passport valid beyond your trip with at least two blank pages.
- •A recent photograph meeting the Schengen specification.
- •Travel medical insurance covering at least €30,000 for the Schengen area.
- •Six months of stamped bank statements in your own name, plus salary slips or business records.
- •An employer No Objection Certificate (NOC) on letterhead, signed and stamped, for salaried applicants. A missing or unstamped NOC is a common reason for delay.
- •A day-by-day itinerary, accommodation for the whole stay and a return flight reservation.
How far ahead to apply
Processing is commonly quoted at 15 to 45 calendar days, depending on how much extra scrutiny a file needs. Italy is a popular route and appointment slots fill early, so plan to submit 30 to 45 days before travel at the very least, and earlier in busy seasons.
Common reasons Italy refuses Pakistani applicants
- •A bank balance that doesn't comfortably cover the stated trip length and daily spending.
- •A missing or unstamped employer NOC.
- •Unexplained gaps or overstays in previous travel history.
- •An itinerary that is vague or doesn't match the bookings you submitted.
